To start out with, there is just one week left to order our limited edition 'Midsummer Collection' from our Printorem photo print shop! We have no current plans to release prints of these images again so give them a look while they're still available!
Our next collection, as well as our regular print stock, will be moving to a new hosting platform in the near future as well. Printorem seems to have great services and we originally chose it for the site's ease of setting commissions, however we were always a bit uneasy about the price point. While their prices aren't unreasonable, they definitely put our prints out of most people's budgets, and we would like to change that. Whether that will involve a new 3rd-party printing service or personally handling a print-to-order operation we have yet to decide. We have also been continuing to list new hand-made and vintage items to our Etsy shop! Our hand-made artistic products all have a distinctly spooky feel and would make great decor this upcoming Halloween (or year round for all the creepy souls like myself out there) and with our free shipping there's no reason not to buy now!
Be on the look out on our Instagram and FaceBook pages over the next 2 months as we're going to be announcing several Halloween specials as we get closer to October 31st. We'll be starting with our first announcement on September 1st; Halloween is my favorite holiday and I'm more than ready to get started!
Finally, for the largest and perhaps most exciting announcement: we are writing a book! To be more specific, we are currently doing photography and writing for our very first book project. With the amount of scenic photography I do it only made sense to organize and share it with others in book format. For the time being we will be focusing mainly on photographic content in the form of coffee table-style books. It will be totally self-written, self-produced, and self-published with the only outside hands being a potential proof-reader or two. This will keep production costs at an absolute minimum and will allow us to provide you with the highest quality product we can create at a reasonable price.
As I stated we are still very much in the beginning stages of production so the end product is still quite a ways off. The subject and photographic content of the book, however, will require me to make a few trips and I would like to be able to take share about the creation process as it's happening. Plus, I'm no good at secrets!
A final note: Just before the start-up of all the MrskrNZkry pages half of us (the Marissa half) left their job to take care of a number of family-related things. This allowed for more time to be focused on art-related activities and really helped in getting everything launched. I will soon be returning to my part-time day job at a retail store. This may mean fewer posts and new creations at first while I am getting back into the schedule of a work day (as I am also the one currently controlling all the pages). On a positive note, however, I'll be able to get discounts in the art section of the store I work at (that means more canvases for the shop). I also intend to use one of my first pay checks to purchase a camera with video capabilities so we can get the YouTube page up and running. It's the last part of the MrskrNZkry project that I have envisioned and am not currently able to work on so it will be great to get that going!
